My married-with-kids colleagues, annoyed last night that we couldn't get into the strip club because the doorman didn't like the fact that I was wearing Adidas and not Florscheims or Ballys, are now thanking me. Under the cold light of sobriety they realise that had we indeed gone in, they'd be regretting this morning a lot more than they otherwise do with just the two liters of Starkbier each one drank last night. I'd had three; maybe I was a bit wobbly, too.

For me, the most raucous last days of school were in Junior High (grades 7 and 8), everyone had the same last day. Come High school, we would all have the same last day of classes, but then we'd have to come back the next week for various tests. a long weekend (in the good sense)

Apparently we live right between the first and sixth safest "metropolitan" areas in the country. These 2 cities are around 50,000 people each, so they don't really have an "area", per-se, but nevertheless...

Six of the top ten are in small-town Wisconsin. Go figure.
